Silverburn Park is something of a phoenix. A coastal park and woodland. Formerly loved by the community - it had fallen into disrepair and has now been reinvigorated by a local initiative in partnership with FEAT in Leven, Fife. The centrepiece will be the 19th century flax mill within the park which is being redeveloped into a Visitor Centre, Cafe and Community Hub. The aim of the redevelopment is to bring in bring visitiors from father afield as well as provide a local resource and focal point for the community. The new look park will have Festivals & Events, Campsite, Bunkhouse, Cafés and is situated on the Fife Coastal Path.
The new identity would have to appeal to diverse audiences and provide a brand architecture that could work across the Park, Mill, Campsite and other aspects of the park. We settled on a slab serif type with a motif derived from the distinctive cone of the Giant Sequoia which are a signature species in the park.
